There’s a Quiet Understanding

There’s a Quiet Understanding
Tedd Smith

There's a quiet understanding when we're gathered in the Spirit,
It's a promise that He gives us, when we gather in His Name.
There's a love we feel in Jesus, there's a manna that He feeds us
It's a promise that He gives us when we gather in His Name.

And we know when we're together, sharing love and understanding,
That our brothers and our sisters feel the oneness that He brings.
Thank You, thank You, thank You, Jesus, for the way you love and feed us,
For the many ways You lead us, thank You, thank You, Lord.

"There's a Quiet Understanding" is a song that expresses the fellowship we feel in Christ.  It was written by Tedd Smith, who was the pianist for many of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's crusades.
In 1972, after a crusade service in Oakland, California, several members of the Billy Graham team gathered together for an informal Communion service.  Smith experienced a deep sense of fellowship.  After he was back in his room, he wrote this song.  Dick Anthony, who has been involved with Christian radio and television productions, wrote an arrangement for it.
Please take a moment or two this week and listen to this clip of this week’s communion song. I pray you will grow closer and feel his presence as you commune with our Lord.
